Review – Dire Warnings (In Darkness We Must Abide #6) by Rhiannon Frater

Beautiful lonely girl in long dressWe are back in the world of the Socolis and I couldn’t be happier!

Episode 6 picks up on Vanora’s 18th birthday – several months after she leaves the home she shared with Roman and Alisha.  From Goodreads: “Vanora is haunted by the night her faith in her love and her siblings was shattered. After taking refuge in Austin in hopes of creating a new life, Vanora is tormented by dreams and visions of a mysterious albino vampire.”

While she is trying to make a new life for herself in Austin, Vanora cannot forget everything that happened months before in Houston.  This episode starts with her 18th birthday and ends about 20 months later.  Armando is watching over her but will he be able to keep her from her destiny?  We learn more about Aeron’s plan and Vanora meets him for the first time.  I especially enjoyed the bond that still exists between Vanora and her deceased mother (who set a plan in motion to try to prevent her destiny as well.)

The Seven Sisters, Lorelei, Carlotta….there is so much depth to this episode and I cannot wait to read the next one.

5/5 stars.  (P.S. Albino vampires are kind of scary!)
